Spring/Summer Sporting Clays Schedule 2011
Wednesday Night Sporting
Clays starts on April 13 and will be open every Wednesday night
except for May 18 and September 28 when the range will be
closed. Shooting time starts at 6:00 PM
Starting in April, Sporting
Clays will be open on the first and last Sunday of each month,through September, except for April 24,
June 26, and August 7 when the range will be closed. Shooting time
starts at 1:00 PM
Sporting Clays Work Days!
Chainsaw & Clean
Up Days: Need people with chainsaws, 4 wheelers/trailer, and able
bodies to cut trees, haul off trash, and clean up the course.
We’ll also
be setting up a new station and building some new shooting
platforms, so people with basic carpenter skills would be very
useful!

For those looking for a special shotgun
shooting challenge, the sporting clays range at the United
Sportsmen's Club will certainly provide it! Eight different
stations with up to three shooting stands per station and an
endless variety of targets and presentations will challenge
even the most accomplished shooter. Sporting clays provides
great practice for those seeking to improve their hunting
skills and it is a nice alternative to the standard trap and
skeet ranges. NEW THIS YEAR!
Thanks to a generous grant
from the National Rifle Association, the sporting clays range
was able to purchase two battery operated trap machines. These
new machines, coupled with the pair we currently have, will
allow us to shoot, on occasion, a modified Five Stand Course.
If you have not tried Five Stand, it too provides a unique and
fast paced shotgun shooting challenge.
The sporting clays range is open
every Wednesday night from April through September, starting
at 6:00 PM and and every first and last Sunday of the month,
starting at 1:00 PM. From October through March, we're open
every Sunday starting at 1:00 PM, weather provided. During the
April to September season, the first Wednesday and the last
Sunday of the month will be for Five Stand Shooting. Cost for
a round of 50 is still $8.00. Ammunition and ear plugs are
available for sale on site.
The annual YHEC competition will take
place on June 10-12, If you're interested in helping pull trap or
